Teen Center

Teen Center – Launa Shedden

The Teen Center at the library is the central gathering place for our tweens and teens, especially during the school year!  We encourage and support our teens with homework assistance, a listening ear, and some cool after school programs where they can get all kinds of creative!

There is a great selection of teen friendly resources including books by the latest YA authors, who are writing for our teens about issues and topics that they are experiencing every day at school, with their friends, and at home.  In addition to books we have audios, movies, manga, graphic novels, along with some awesome online databases like TEL (Tennessee Electronic Library) which includes Learning Express Library for test prep to help your student improve achievement at school or just for fun.

We want to include teen ideas as we develop programs and plans for students their age.  So we have a Teen Advisory Group (TAG) that meets monthly from September-May, to plan programs and offer ideas and suggestions to the teen center staff to help shape their space in the library.  All teens are welcome to be a part of this dynamic group!
