Circulation and Cataloging

Circulation Staff (L to R): Erin Parker, Stan Maxwell, Deborah Longley, Lynda O’Dell, and Delane Hardin

The circulation desk is the hub of every library in our system.  It is the first place most visitors stop for information and to see a smiling face.  You will find the circulation desk to be bustling with activity almost all the time but great care is taken with each visitor to assure you receive the best possible customer service we can provide.  At the circulation desk, you return and check out books and other materials, register for or replace your library card, pay your fines and other fees, and get general information about programs, events, and all library system activities.

Patience Floyd, Cataloger

Samantha Sise, Cataloging Assistant

Our cataloging department for the entire system is located at the King Family Library in Sevierville.  In the cataloging department, our staff quickly catalogs and preps all the variety of materials provided by the library system and sends them to each location to be shelved and used by our patrons.

Our cataloging provides some great information for you to help you find items easily, including the spine label that lists the type of item, author’s last name beginning letters, call numbers of items that are non-fiction, and designations like resource room, large print, oversize, etc.  Patience and Lisa are always busy processing and cataloging new and donated books and other items so you can check them out as soon as possible.
