REEL BOOKS: SCPLS BOOK-INTO-MOVIE PROGRAM

KODAK, TN.  The Kodak Branch of the Sevier County Public Library System will host a special movie program in January for the Reel Books: Book-into-Movie program. The movie, Disney’s Ruby Bridges, is based on the Robert Cole’s “The Story of Ruby Bridges.” Ruby Bridges, not rated, depicts the true story of Ruby Bridges, an African-American girl who, in 1960 at age 6, helped to integrate the all-white schools of New Orleans.

 

The SCPLS Kodak Branch Library will show Ruby Bridges on Saturday, January 23 starting at 2:00 p.m. There is no charge to watch the movie. The SCPLS Kodak Branch Library is located at 319 West Dumplin Valley Road at the entrance to the Optimist Park.
