About Us

Founded in 1974, the Sevier County Humane Society is a full service animal shelter and we receive 4500-5000 lost, abandoned, surrendered, homeless pets a year. We turn no animal away, except for wildlife which Tennessee State law prohibits us from handling. Bet we are more than cats and dogs!! Our animal shelter has housed horses, pigs, rabbits, chicken, geese, rats and even an iguana.

Your Humane Society is a private non-profit organization governed by a board of directors and employs an Executive Director and 7 full time, dedicated staff. Operating primarily on donations and community support, all contributions are appreciated and used to create a safe, healthy and comfortable environment for the animals that come into our care.
